Drawing
inspiration from cultural icons of our time, Bowman's work provides
personality to pop culture.
He boldly explores the humor of today's society, over saturated
with idolization, media, and consumerism. Bowman uses old mirrors
and window frames as canvas’, as well as old doors and
a variety of surfaces that result in the recycled and retro
feel of his work." New School Lounge Pop" is the manifestation
of Bowman's playful perception of the "Real".
His experience begins with an Classical Animation education
at Sheridan College Oakville, and continues
to grow with his solo shows in Toronto. He's worked on various
cartoons as a layout artist, layout supervisor, and has been
a storyboard artist on several high end commercials. In 2002
Bowman moved to Sydney Australia, and storyboarded the short
film Good Luck Jeffrey Brown, shot at Fox Studios, while producing
a one man gallery show. Worked on the Silverchair animated music
video "Luv Your Life", animating characters and scene
transitions.
He presently works as a free lance illustrator, a graphic artist
designing t-shirts and band logos, CD layouts and covers, story
boarding commercials, a striving musician and lead singer of
The STEREO HOAX, and an upcoming artist participating in such
event's as Virgin Thread Market, Fashion Cares 2005 and Nuit
Blanche 2006
and 2007.
With the anticipated success of his solo endeavors, Bowman aspires
to continue producing show's and making his art accessible to
the discerning public.
